PRISM International is pleased to announce that the PRISM Latin American Forum will be held Nov. 29-30 in Cartagena, Colombia. The forum will be held at the Hotel Almirante Cartagena, a luxurious property conveniently located only 7.9 kilometers (4.9 miles) from the center of Cartagena. The PRISM Latin American Forum is the premiere educational event in South and Central American for records and information management companies, and for those who are interested in creating or expanding their service offerings in this area.  The educational program will be based around the PRISM Privacy+ workshop. Dear Fellow Members,
 
The day has finally come to transition to our new PRISM International headquarters office in Glenview, Illinois. We are very excited to be moving into our new home and begin working with our new PRISM management team and staff. I hope those of you who attended the annual international conference in Las Vegas had an opportunity to meet our new Executive Director, Dave Bergeson, as well as some of our additional PRISM team staff members. If so, I hope you left feeling as excited as I do about our organization's future and confident in our new team's capabilities. 

I also hope that you have had the chance to check out the staff team introductions that were included in the weekly InFo e-blasts sent out during the past several weeks. A staff directory can be found on the website. Our new team is in place and ready to dive in! Please do not hesitate to contact any of them with your member needs.

I expect others might have similar questions to Bill's...that being how we'll replace the industry specific knowledge of our outgoing Executive Director, Jim Booth.

In 2011 the Board of Directors formulated a policy to create a stronger governance structure for members in identifiable regions. These “advisory councils” are still subject to board approval but have more authority to help determine budgets, special projects, and engage in activities to support members in the region. During their March conference call, the board reviewed advisory council members submitted from Asia, Europe, and Latin America and approved the recommendations.

O’Neil Software Sends Relief and Hope To Employee’s Staten Island Hometown Devastated by Hurricane Sandy


Irvine, CA, Nov. 15, 2012
- It seemed like it was made for the big screen.  A Hollywood, blockbuster movie.  “Frankenstorm” Sandy with a thousand-mile wing-span.  Bulls eye:  the East Coast areas and one of the hardest hit  -  Staten Island, New York, the hometown of one of O’Neil Software’s employees.  

And then it came.  Staten Island roadways, residential and coastal communities flooded.  Houses caught on fire.  Storm waters rose killing and devastating the lives of people, their property and treasured small-town memories.  Days later, Staten Island residents were still pleading for food and water, while others tried to survive cold temperatures without heat, electricity and necessities.  Generators, that could provide power, sat idle in parking lots.  Multitudes of people had no place to stay.  And while there was gasoline at filling stations, most of them didn’t have power to run the pumps, so people were unable to get off the small island to higher ground, shelter, warmth and safety.

Seasoned industry marketer joins Access to launch new client-driven support programs

Shaun Stevens has over twenty years of experience in the records management industry, focused on business development, marketing and operations.  Most recently, Shaun served as the Senior Director of Product Management at Cornerstone Records Management where he also held roles in sales, operations and business development.  Shaun began his career as an information management practitioner, focused on data protection services. His subject matter expertise, experience and leadership abilities led to a number of marketing and operations-related executive positions with many leading organizations in the RIM industry.

Largest independent provider in Georgia joins the largest national independent provider

LIVERMORE, CA - October 24, 2012 - Rob Alston, CEO of Access, announced today the company’s acquisition of Adams Data Management, the largest independent records and information management services provider in Georgia with facilities in Tucker and Gainesville.

This transaction represents an expansion of the company’s southeastern regional operations and adds significantly to Access’ facilities and capabilities in the Greater Atlanta market. With its recent acquisition of Retrievex, Access now provides services in 26 markets throughout the United States and in Costa Rica.

The Publications Task Group of PRISM International has accepted a proposal from Brightstone Insurance and Brightstone Consulting to revise the PRISM International publication “Insurance and Risk Transfer Guideline”. The publication was created in 2000 to help members of the industry understand the fundamentals of insurance and risk. This will mark the first revision of the publication.
